Minitonas Library

The Minitonas Library opened in town in approximately 1984. On February 6, 2006 the Minitonas Library moved its services to the newly renovated bank building providing a beautiful and historical place to house its collection. This fully wheelchair accessible facility is perfect for those young or old to enjoy what reading has to offer.

From 2004 – 2008 a library committee existed with 13 members who diligently raised the funds needed to renovate the new library building and purchase the furnishings within.

The library provides many services to its members:
~ELM online downloadable ebooks
~Assorted DVD, paperback, large print, children’s and picture books
~Circulation of 7400 books in 2009 and growing
~
Ability to order books in that are not in stock in library
~Local history and picture collections

During the months of July and August the Library offers a weekly story time each Wednesday at 2:00 pm. They also run a “most books read” program from November to March for children to promote literacy in youth.

The Library also offers 2 computers that are available for use by any of the library members. These computers feature high speed internet access and usage is free of charge. Print services are available at the cost of $0.15 per page.
